We trekked over the state line in Missouri and headed right for some good BBQ in Kansas.
A slab of ribs. Yes, we all shared. And we still didn't finish off this platter. They were good. But not great. However, that's probably because this southern girl is used to Alabama style BBQ, Dreamland anyone? :) Really, even our local BBQ joints are great that are not nationally known. In fact, my Daddy can cook the BEST chicken anywhere, hands down. At this joint in Kansas, the ribs had a dry rub on them (which was very very spicy) and then were also covered in wet sauce. Don't get me wrong, they were good, we all ate until we were full and ready for the road again.
The ribs were good, but the onion rings were great! Crispy, crunchy, just how I like them!
