Day 4 of travels brought us to a very important day of the week.....Sunday. And I decided to find a way for us to do what we do every Sunday, even if we were far away from home....
So I found a stop that fit just perfectly for our family.....one of the smallest churches in America....located in Luverne, Minnesota. Certainly a first for our family.
The sweetest little white church...
The Church seated 6.
Elder Son and Middle Boy slid into the 1 person pews as soon as we arrived.
And Baby Girl took her spot on the front row on the "other side of the church"....
She needed to be close to the front anyway, she lead the first song (Jesus Loves Me) to begin our service. Which was followed by another song (Amazing Grace) led by Middle Boy. We all took a part in worship service. I read the daily devotion from our book we use each night with the kids (it has some great stories to go along with scriptures). Elder Son lead us in prayer. And then Temple shared with us some thoughts from Proverbs.
A local church is active in keeping up the grounds around the little church as well as the inside. The door doesn't even have a lock on it. It's always open, and they have a sign asking you to leave the lights on, so that no matter when someone wants to stop for worship, they can.
You may notice on the walls they have several tracts, bibles, and they even had Children's bulletins for the kids. The Gideons had placed an entire wall shelf filled with the small New Testaments in different colors with a message saying they encouraged the kids to take one. Each of ours took one before our "service" began so they could follow along with their Daddy's bible reading.
It was such a sweet worship. I had teary eyes when the kids stood up front and led singing, when Elder Son prayed, every minute I could feel the Lord was right there with us. In one of the smallest churches in America, with 6 seats, in the middle of a very small town in Minnesota.
He is everywhere. All you have to do is open your heart to Him and He will reside with you wherever you are.
"Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." ~Joshua 1:9
