Friday Night Lights: Edition #5-HOMECOMING- BHS vs. Shoals Christian

Homecoming in our small town is an event to behold. From the all day cooking going on underneath the tents near the practice field, the float decorating that all the students are doing in the parking lot, the parade, the pep rally, the GAME....and this year, y'all, the GAME...it was a good one to see!

Look who had a bye week in college and
came back home to watch a little Friday night football!

Look at these fine fans sitting up in the stands.
Tyner Family, at it's best.

Black Out Pep Rally and Homecoming Court

I am amazed at the energy levels our cheerleaders have! I know they are less than half my age, but whew, I tire out just attending these pep rallies and games, much less participating!!

The Black Out pep rally is always a BIG HIT with everyone!

And this year it proved to be MAGNIFICIENT!!!!

These girls did an awesome job--not once, but twice!!
Thursday night after the bonfire and 12 hours later,
they did it all again before the school on Friday morning!

Yes, it's true!
Our cheerleaders are > than your cheerleaders...
even in a blackout!

Super Seniors! Love these kiddos!

Baby Girl and two of her best friends and cheermates!
The Junior High girls were thrilled to get to be asked by the Varsity
to join them in cheering at the Bonfire as well as the Pep Rally.

The pretty Homecoming Queen and her pretty mother.
They are just as sweet as they are pretty!
And this little girl, now all grown up,
was Elder Son's partner in Kindergarten for the 3-legged race.
Time flies when you're having fun!

We love our Tori! She's a beauty, everyday, in every way.

 Baby Girl with sweet Zoe.

Cheer mascot fun!

Look! It's gymnast teammates coming to watch Baby Girl cheer!

Zoe was mesmerized with watching the cheerleaders, band and mascot!

Homecoming Parade 2014

Oh, the joys of Homecoming in greater greater Smalltown, USA.  This is Middle Child's absolute favorite day of the year by far....because they get to PLAY all day! Pep rally in the morning, working on floats all day, leading up to the parade that afternoon, game that evening, and dance to end the night. The kids did a pretty good job overall decorating their floats this year....even Middle Child's class who decided not to break "tradition" and for the 4th year in a row they threw together their float from 8am until 1pm that day! Of course, they didn't place, but hey, they had fun.

We have the prettiest cheer squad around. Every year. Every single year.

Hannie!

Baby Girl!

Nice tat!

Elder Son and his Senior class pulled out a nice VICTORY
winning 1st place for their float!

Cute firefighters!

The Juniors gave a good run, but our firetruck, with working hose,
was enough to edge our the competition.

9th grade was able to win 3rd with their cute float
EXTINGUISH the FLAME

Such a beauty!

The BOE maybe should have brought in different representatives....

Pretty Girl!

Look! Dexter Roberts (American Idol) was in our Homecoming Parade!
He's a local boy....and wait until you see the post about him to come.

Katie Bug and Baby Girl....sweet smiles.

My father cooks chicken for the Homecoming Dinner, all day long. His brothers came to
help out and watch the parade and game! These men are priceless to me and so many others.
A true legacy to our family.

Uncle Temple and Libby shared some parade candy.

Although it seemed fun at the time,
she wasn't thrilled that he really licked her lollipop.

And decided to keep it for herself!

JC was happy to have a load of candy as well!

This was the first time Libby had seen Baby Girl with her braces.

She was impressed.
