Tank's first Division 1 NCAA football game

Arkansas State vs. Montana State -- August 30, 2014

Centennial Stadium-ASU-Jonesboro, Arkansas

 

Game day begins with their "Wolves Walk"!
A mini pep rally, with the band and cheerleaders, is held in

 "tailgate city", and the players exit the bus, then walk their way

 through the crowd of fans, heading to the locker room.

We were waiting at the very end of their walk, right before they

entered the iron gate to head to the locker room--and we were giving out

 big hugs to this guy--as happy to see us as we were to see him!  

 

This is his face when he saw Baby Girl standing in line! So excited!

His first collegiate TD--and I was ever so ecstatic to be there to see it with my own eyes,

 through the tear stained lens of my camera.

After the game, I looked up on the jumbo tron to see him high-fiving the student section.

Those guys on the front row were painted up spelling out the phrase

"UNLEASHING THE MONSTER!"

Which is a response to Coach Anderson's recruiting and working motto

"BUILDING A MONSTER".

Oh my lands.  I cannot even begin to tell you what fun we all had for this weekend.  The big day we have been working so hard to reach had finally arrived. We drove through the night after our high school game, arrived and only got a couple hours of sleep because we were so excited to see Tank, to get our hands on him again, to watch him on that field, to realize his dreams were coming true....

 

Being there, just to see him take the field was amazing.

Being there when he scored his first touchdown was priceless.

 

We can hardly wait to enjoy the experience over and over again every Saturday this fall!
