Blessings in the Snow.....
Do you have any of this in your life? Sin, not snow. Unless your initials are J.C. and your name is Jesus Christ, you have sin. Only one has ever resided on this earth and lived a sinless life....and only one ever will. It is a title that HE alone can hold, his record can never be broken, it will stand the test of time....far into eternity.
I told you the other day we received a sprinkling of snowflakes here in Small Town, USA...which happens to be located in the deep south. You know, where it doesn't snow, even a smidge. It was beautiful to look out our windows early that morning and see a blanket of white covering our lawn....no animals or any of our munchkins had yet to walk through it...thus it was pure, unscathed. I decided to take off from an idea of a friend back during the summer (LL) and do a little blog about the snow in relation to our sin. It goes perfectly with our verse we are learning for December.
Blessed are they
whose transgressions are forgiven
whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man
whose sin the Lord will never count against him.
Dear friend, HE covers our sin. We ask with a repentent heart for forgiveness...and he offers it. Every time, without holding a grudge---without making us wait for it---without having to count to 10 to calm down---without holding it over our heads for weeks, months, years on end---without sitting on it for a while to stew about it---without doing it half-heartedly---
HE forgives. Bottom line. And that, is the greatest gift any of us could ever hope to receive, any time of year. Not just this season....but every day HE gives us breath.
